Answer :
Following are the differences between the Gram Sabha and the Gram Panchayat.
- All adult members are the members of the Gram Sabha, who elect the members of the Gram Panchayat.
 - The Gram Sabha’s responsibility is to evaluate the functioning of the Gram Panchayat,
 - The main function of the Gram Panchayat is to implement developmental programmes for villages.
 
Que : Write about the composition of the Gram Panchayat? 
Answer :
- Every Village Panchayat is divided into small areas known as wards.
 - People in each ward elect a representative, known as a ward member (Panch).
 - Anyone above the age of 21 is eligible to contest elections for the Ward Panch.
 - The president of the Panchayat is known as Sarpanch.
 - The Sarpanch of a village is elected by all members of the Gram Sabha.
 - The Ward Panchs and the Sarpanch constitute the Gram Panchayat, which is accountable to the Gram Sabha.
 - The Gram Panchayat is elected for five years.
 - One-third of the seats in the panchayat elections are reserved for women,
 - Some seats are also reserved for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.
 - The Gram Panchayat and Gram Sabha has a secretary, who is appointed by the government.
