The outbreak of COVID-19 has impacted nations in an enormous way, especially the nationwide lockdowns which have brought social and economic life to a standstill.
# The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide
# It challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work.
# The economic and social disruption caused by tens of millions of people are at risk of falling into extreme poverty
# Currently estimated at nearly 690 million were at extreme poverty, It could increase by up to 132 million by the end of the year.
# Nearly half of the world’s 3.3 billion global workforce are at risk of losing their livelihoods
# Without the means to earn an income during lockdowns, many are unable to feed themselves and their families.
# For most, no income means no food, or, at best, less food and less nutritious food.
# The impact of pandemic COVID-19 is observed in every sector around the world.
# The education sectors of India as well as world are badly affected by this.
# It has enforced the world wide lock down creating very bad effect on the students’ life.
# Around 32 crore learners stopped to move schools/colleges and all educational activities halted in India.
# School closures impact not only students, teachers, and families but have far-reaching economic and societal consequences.
# School closures in response to the pandemic have shed light on various social and economic issues, including
student debt, digital learning, food insecurity,homelessness etc
# The impact was more severe for disadvantaged children and their families,causing interrupted learning, compromised nutrition, childcare problems, and consequent economic cost to families who could not work.

We must rethink the future of our environment and tackle climate change and environmental degradation with ambition and urgency.
Only then we can protect the health, livelihoods, food security and nutrition of all people, and ensure that our ‘new normal’ is a better one.
